Is your immune system ready for the school year?

By Lou Maurio

School is in full swing. Back to the hectic, running around with less sleep, more responsibilities and more chances for you and the kids to get run down and put on the sidelines. There’s no time for missing school, dance, sports or anything for that matter. So it’s more important than ever to do all you can to keep everyone in the family’s immune systems strong, including your own.

One of the most important ways to stay healthy is to make sure that you’re all getting the right nutrition. Let’s face it, our hectic lifestyles can make it difficult for you and the kids to eat properly. Just think about the morning rush. Who stayed up too late, didn’t get up on time and rushed out without eating. Not a great way to start the day. And dinner time is just as crazy.

Add that to the fact that you’re all getting up earlier and not getting as much sleep, and you can understand how it can take a toll on their health and performance in school. Studies show that proper nutrition can have a profound effect on school performance.

Some smart tips for keeping the family healthy.

1) Get them to eat right. Since we know that isn’t always possible, make sure to add vitamins and nutritional supplements to their diet. For example, Nature’s Answer Sambucus Mega Gummies 7X gives you 7 times the amount of elderberries vs. other brands. Each gummie is packed with important antioxidants. And even more important, the Black Elderberries in Nature’s Answer Sambucus Mega Gummies 7X have twice the antioxidants of blueberries, and more antioxidants than cranberries and goji berries, perfect to help support everyone’s immune system every day of the year.*

And if you prefer your immune support in an easy to use spray, Nature’s Answer Sambucus extract spray gives you the added benefits of Slippery Elm, Echinacea, Astragalus, Sage, & Propolis, the perfect combination to help keep everyone’s immune system healthy.*

2) Make sure they get plenty of sleep. Though they may want to stay up late to work on a project or study, make sure that they don’t make it a habit. High school students need at least 7 hours of sleep a night.

3) Have them avoid computer or phone use before bedtime. The blue light emitted by the screen stops the production of melatonin in the body making it difficult to fall asleep. If they are having this problem, a high-quality melatonin supplement such as Nature’s Answer Melatonin+ is an excellent solution

The more you take care of yourself and your family, the better they’ll do in school, and the less stress you’ll have throughout the school year.
