Bladderwrack Thallus, from its name you would never know it, but bladderwrack is a seaweed found naturally in the oceans. It is a type of brown algae with outstanding health benefits. Depending on where in the world you are, some of the other names of Bladderwrack include rockweed, red fucus, and black tang. Bladderwrack can be found in the Baltic Sea, Europe, around the British Isles, and even along the eastern coast of North America.
The main stem of the bladderwrack, is called the thallus. The thallus has tough, air-filled pods or bladders to help the algae float—giving it the name bladderwrack.
