What is Hawthorn?

Hawthorn (Crataegus laevigata, Crataegus monogyna, Crataegus oxyacantha) is a tree that grows in temperate areas of the world including Europe and the Eastern United States. Common names include English hawthorn, May-tree, May-bush, whitethorn and hawberry. It is a member of the rose family (Rosaceae) and belongs to the genus Crataegus.

What is Hawthorn used for?

Throughout history it was traditionally used as a tonic to support a healthy heart, and has earned the nickname, “ the Heart Herb”.
