A perfect introduction into space. A high quality quilt. A very striking Bargello design with 24 extra brilliant Batik style color fast 100 % cotton blue to aqua prints selected by C Jean Horst. Many hours of hand-embroidered work was put into this quilt!! The back of the quilt is covered with a navy blue solid 100% cotton fabric. Sweet little tulips sit in each corner while flowers fill in the triangle blocks around the edge. Patchwork border is the quilter’s unique twist to the Fire Island Hosta pattern.

Charming! Made by an Amish woman here in Lancaster County who is a friend of Hannah. The hand quilting and appliqué are beautifully done as well. Here's another variation. These quilts were made in the early days of quilt making in our country, but it is very unusual to find this pattern well done, hand made, and this beautiful in quilts of todays selections. Both pieced and quilted by an Amish friend and signed and managed by C Jean Horst who designed and selected the fabrics and supplied an accurate pattern for sewing as well as oversaw the steps through the project. It is an original design by C Jean Horst, using needle turn appliqué, machine piecing, decorative hand quilting and great 100% quilters cotton fabrics in shades of plums, and greens in a tasteful combination. The quality of the hand appliqué and quilting are easy to observe in this charming small quilt and the floral border is the prefect finish. The border fabric is stunning too!

The pretty backing is 100% tone on tone cotton. The background fabric is a very fine gray flower. The quilt has a small documentation tag sewn into the back side of the quilt documenting the maker, fabric content, date, name of pattern, and a note about being made in America, quilted by an Amish friend. The back of the quilt is covered with a solid white fabric like used on the front. NOTE: Pictured pillow is not included and is available as an add-on.
