I cooked the veggies too long so they were not as crunchy as I would have liked, but still yummy. A protein – we think crumbled tofu makes a great replacement for minced meat. Plus, it’s packed with veggies, protein, and fiber and takes just 20 minutes to prepare.

I love these kind of recipes, they’re quick, simple, and easy to modify in order to use what’s on hand… and delish!
Had the texture of fresh sea scallops (which is weird I know) but I loved it! We find that recipes tend to take longer the first time someone makes them, but after that, it becomes faster! I added broccoli as I didn’t have cabbage.
After pouring in the seasoning, let it sit for a while to soak in the flavor and create the crumbly texture.
We never knew how great tofu tasted. Used cauli rice and had no cabbage so threw in half a bag of diced carrots – perfection.
Then comes the cauliflower rice (well hello there, more veggies). Thai basil tofu stir-fry, or any kind of vegan holy basil stir-fry, is my absolute favourite Thai dish! I have a pretty high spice tolerance and so does my boyfriend, and we both had the same opinion.
I sometimes change the vegetables it just really depends what I have in the fridge.
This would be a faster and easier way to perpare the tofu, I’ll have to try it! I love the sauce from this recipe. We chose mushrooms, cabbage, and bell pepper this time, but the possibilities are endless!

It was little saltier than I would prefer, but oh mine it was delicious! So easy to make, absolutely delicious!
Note: the 4 serving size portion calls for 2 tsp of chili garlic sauce and I had only used ONE tsp. So I have been making this a lot. xo.
Love eating plant based? I think I will try that this week! Here’s our two-cents: Tofu is part of a healthy diet. You can tell people this and they think….mmm tofu I don’t think so…..but the proof is in the tasting.

When we run out of coconut aminos we’ve used Sauce and a few more dashes of maple syrup for sweetness and worked great! Add cauliflower rice (or cooked grains) to the other side of the pan. Whoop! I also love how easily the sauce is adjusted to the flavor you want to be more noticeable- sweet, salty, etc.

It takes a little to get the Tofu crumbly. Add cubed or crumbled tofu to a plate or shallow dish along with coconut aminos and chili garlic sauce (optional) and gently toss/stir to coat. I was searching for a tofu dish for my bento box and found this easy to prepare recipe. The intense spicy and peppery flavour of the holy basil leaves combined with bird eye chillies, with a salty, slightly sweet sauce is a dream combo for me. I can’t wait to try this! Holy basil has proven much more difficult to find. I'm not sure that stir frying crumbled tofu would work.

But since we don’t have a wok (and chances are you don’t either), we used a cast iron skillet for this recipe.

Once hot, add sesame oil (or water) and marinated tofu (including any remaining coconut aminos) and cook until brown, gently flipping a few times to ensure even cooking.
I couldn’t be happier. Second time substitutes the cabbage for broccoli. Also known as Thai sweet basil, its flavour more closely resembles liquorice or aniseed. We are so glad you enjoy all three recipes! It sounds delicious!

It helps it crisp up. It’s got the best stir fry sauce, and you can use any veggies.
I still haven’t found coconut aminos, but Braggs/tamari/soy sauce works just fine (add 1/2 of what recipe calls for FIRST and taste due to different salt levels). I’d say the 20 minutes is aspirational, but the dish was delicious. will be making again.
I made it for my gf and I, but I barely left any for her because I ate so much of it, so I hope she doesn’t kill me when she comes home lol wish me luck guys! Especially if you end up getting addicted to our Thai basil tofu stir-fry (like we are!).
