Juniper berries (Juniperus Communis), also known as Juniper Fructus, Bacchae juniper, genever, and ginepro grow on evergreens. They are found in Europe, Southwestern Asia up to the Himalayas, and North America. Unlike the hard pine cones we are accustomed to seeing on evergreens, the Juniper berry cones are soft and fleshy.
